The Future

The church of Christ is under pressure from increasingly secular attitudes in society and from dangerous apathy within the churches. In western Europe, the mainstream churches are in decline, but elsewhere in the world the church is thriving and growing rapidly. The churches have been slow to respond and quick to bury their heads in the sand.

At this church we will do our best to serve God and show the good people of Newbiggin and beyond how truly amazing the gift of faith is. Lives and situations are transformed. The deepest kinds of friendships are formed and lonliness fades. We believe in an inclusive love that seeks to build people up and help to make life good. We believe that every person can have a relationship with God that is life enhancing and unending. We believe that the world can be a better place if we journey together through life with Christ, individually and as a community of faith.

God has blessed Newbiggin in many ways, and we remain confident that God will continue to do so. We will do our best to build a community that honours God, and we shall work as close as we can with our brothers and sisters in the other Newbiggin churches.
